The Brown Sugar Stitchers are a dynamic group of African American Quilters in the metropolitan Atlanta area. The group was formed in Fall 2000 through the efforts of Nancy Franklin and Jocelyn Carter, as a means to cultivate the expression of this historic craft. We participate in community service projects such as donation quilts for children in long term care at the Carrie Steele-Pitts Home for Children, Inc. in northwest Atlanta. At our monthly meetings we feature speakers, "mini-classes," Block-of-the-Month and fellowship after the business meeting.
