The Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild was formed in 1981 when a small group of 11 local women joined together in their interests and appreciation of the art of quilting. Today the guild averages over 450 members annually. The annual dues are $20.00 and entitles members to discounts at local quilt shops, entry to the monthly meetings, discounted pricing for quilting workshops, access to library classes and the guild's library, a monthly newsletter and a chance to win a nicely funded scholarship to a national quilt show of the member's choice. Monthly meetings are held the second (2nd) Saturday of each month from 9 am to noon at the Marble Arch Banquet and Conference Center in Mercedes, TX just off Expressway 83 (nouth side of expressway at Mile 2 West Rd. exit). The guild members donate countless volunteer hours making baby quilts for local birthing centers, hospitals, local ambulance and emergency response services, and the Ronald McDonald House. Lap quilts are also made for local nursing homes and cancer caps for hospitals. Many members teach quilting to various groups of all ages throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Two college scholarships are given each year by the guild to local graduating seniors who are pursuing an education in the textile field. Scholarships are also given to guild members to attend the Houston Int'l Quilt Show or another national show of the recipients choice. Pease River Quilters Guild We have about 40 members who pay $ 24.00 a year ( $ 12.00 dues and $ 12.00 rental for the building). We meet on the 2nd. Monday of each month at Wilbarger St. Church of Christ, 2515 Wilbarger St. @ 5:30. We have a block lottery, programs, work shops and a yearley raffle quilt and this year we are doing a pizza box. We sponsor a quilt show starting this year will be on the odd years and the Red River Guild does one on the even years. Would love to have anyone come and enjoy our group. email@example.com

Homespun Quilters' Guild. Homespun Quilters' Guild. We have about 100 members who pay $30 a year in dues. We meet at 6:30pm on the third Monday of each month (except December)at the Lakewood Christian Church, 6509 Bosque Blvd. We have a block of the month, fat quarter and other prizes in drawings, programs, workshops, and an extensive library for our members. We make charity quilts of all sizes and donate to various recipients. Las year we donated over 150 children's quilt. We plan to focus on seniors in 2010/11. We have a quilt show every other year.
Creative Quilters' Guild of Ellis County founded in 2003, meets the 4th Monday at 7:00pm at the Waxahachie Bible Church, 621 North Grand Ave, Waxahachie. Activities include monthly programs, BOM, block swaps, and a quilt show in July. Check our website for more info.
Quilters Guild of Parker County. We have approximately 110 members who pay dues of $24 per year. We meet the 3rd Thursday at 6:30pm in the Grat Hall of the Grace First Presbyterian Church. We have fellowship time, program speakers, volunteer opportunities, workshops, ann annual auction each spring and a judged quilt show every other year in September of the "even" years.
HISTORY: The first meeting of the Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild was in September, 1981, with 10 in attendance. Since that time the guild has grown into a membership of 420+ members. PURPOSE: is to encourage the art of quilting and related needle arts, to provide instructions for its members, and to be a gathering place for people with this common interest.. MEMBERSHIP: Dues are $15.00 per year (January 1 st - December 31 st) and entitles members to the bimonthly newsletter "Patches and Snatches", programs, demonstrations, yearbook with roster of members, calendar of programs and meeting dates, as well as use of the Guild Library. The Guild is open to anyone interested in quilts, beginners, intermediates, advanced-quilters or admirers of quilts. Vistors Pay $5. fee at meetings. MEETINGS: Are held the 2nd Saturday of each month, MARBLE ARCH BANQUET AND CONFERENCE CENTER, MERCEDES, beginning at 9:00 AM. PROGRAMS: A certain portion of our meeting is set aside for a program or demonstration on techniques and/or procedures in which our members have expressed an interest. WORKSHOPS: Twice a year educational workshops are held with qualified nationally known instructors for which there is a nominal fee. SHOW AND TELL: At each meeting members bring their quilt or quilt related projects for a portion of the meeting for membership viewing and inspiration. GUILD MEMBERS: Are encouraged to use their creative and artistic talents, as well as improve their basic skills in all of their projects. GUILD LIBRARY: The library has books containing patterns, etc. and can be checked out and returned at meetings. New books are added regularly. Books may be kept one month unless other arrangements are made.
